January 15, 2014 The Waid Books Blog

WELCOME TO THE WAID BOOKS BLOG
JANUARY 15TH 2014

We are so excited to hit the ground running in 2014 with our first release "Tales from the Concrete Jungle" by Michael Allen.  Michael is a native of Chicago, IL and "Tales from the Concrete Jungle" is his first collection of poetry.

We can personally vouch that Michael is a gentle soul with a militant spirit!  His poetry is complex, thought-provoking and socially conscious.

We here at Waid Books are proud to release Michael's first book and please look for more works from him in the future.

The Amazon link for the Kindle version of "Tales" is below:

Tell Your Story

Every person has a tale to tell.  Each life can be so unique, twisted, normal or relatively sane.  Even the most (self-described) "boring" person has something interesting going on.

Many people are afraid to tell their truth.  They don't want to embarrass their parents, they don't want to humiliate themselves. They like having secrets.

When my cohorts and I meet different people we listen.  Usually the conversation ends with "you should write that!"  Most people laugh and say "nobody would care about my story."  Oh how wrong they are.

In every tale there is either a struggle, a triumph, a hero or a villain. So many times people can't see beyond themselves to understand that their story has meaning, purpose and could possibly encourage or even save someone else's life.

Every person has at least one creative talent.  But so many refuse to step outside of their fears to hone that talent and present it to the world.  Or they are so far inside themselves that they don't want to write about what is really eating them.

Past, present or future experiences that need to be released. There is a writer inside of every single one of us.  Take the challenge by the horns and discover your inner story-teller. You'd be surprised with what ends up on the page.
